St Erth church

St Erth 01St Erth is well signposted off the A30 and perhaps more famous as a base for the St Ives park and ride. This is a shame as the church is set in a charming little churchtown, beside a stream.

Sadly, it was closed when we visited, with no sign of where we could obtain the key and so our photos can only show the exterior. The interior, the books assure us, has interest in containing some excellent work by John Sedding which Betjeman thought exemplary.

The porch had a charming weather-beaten look to it and we noted the top of a lovely wheel-headed cross and a poignant common grave.

It is the Hall of Shame for you, St Erth.
